Pencil portraits, WWII and movie prints
Hi, my name is Dave Harris. I’m an artist living in Cardiff with my other half Caroline
and my son Ethan. I try to juggle being an artist with being a full-time dad and
house husband, which although is a challenge in itself, it is where I have striven
to be for a good few years now. I finally now have the opportunity to be a self-employed
artist and concentrate my efforts on my lifelong passion for producing my own artwork.
I specialise in detailed pencil portraits from photos and World War 2 pictures. From
an early age I’ve had an interest in the various military operations and campaigns
from World War 2 and now want to focus my own artwork in the military field.
Information on how to commission portraits or original artwork can be found on the
FAQ page. Fine Art Giclee prints of my pencil drawings are available to purchase
on-line in the galleries on the prints page.
I was born in April 1973 in Bradford-upon-Avon, Wiltshire and raised on the whole
by my wonderful grandparents in Devon and Cornwall who aided me continually in my
love of art from an early age. I went to secondary school at Launceston College in
Cornwall where I progressed reasonably well and generally enjoyed my school life
in a rural location at a highly sports-orientated school. I eventually obtained the
relevant qualifications to gain entry to Falmouth School of Art where I initially
enrolled on a first diploma in design course and then onto a two year OND course
in Graphic Design. I spent three years in beautiful scenic coastal surroundings around
Falmouth to which I will always feel privileged to have had experienced.
In 1999 my son Ethan was born and the art career unfortunately took a back seat for
a few years, until now, where I hope to re-ignite my passion for art. I hope you
enjoy browsing through the portraits, original pencil drawings and prints. Please
don’t hesitate to contact me should you require my services.
